Self portraiture:Self portraiture is the art of taking self-portraits Selfie: A selfie is a image an individual has taken of themselves
I would say I take 2-15 selfies a week. It depends if I take multiple in a row to get the right one or if I just take one selfie. I might take them to post on Instagram or just to keep on my phone for my phone backgrounds.
I think taking selfies have become popular because in the 21st century a lot of people have either become more confident in themselves or people have made themselves look a way they don't look in person. There can be a bad side as people like to judge people online and if it's a intimate photo people may hack onto their phone and share them online.
There aren't many rules to photography, one of the main rules is that the photo has to be of yourself or a group of people taken by yourself. There may be more rules to photography however I would say you could break them. People break rules all the time.
1. This is my favourite selfie because there isn't only one person in the selfie. There's a person in a corner and 2 animals in the picture, there is a tiger than can be seen through a mirror and there is a pig in a top hat in front of the mirror. It isn't really in black and white however there isn't much colour, mainly blue.
2. Self portraiture is the art of taking selfies. The image on the right is a self portrait and is a oil painting. I like it because it isn't the average self portrait you see. It is full of colours. It is painted by Lucy Jones. The main colours in the image is green, red, purple/pink and a bit of blue.
This is my favourite image because in the reflection you can see whats behind me and you can also see a bit of whats outside the building.
My favourite photographer that I think relates to my favourite image is Ilse Bing. I like this image because her entire face isn't in the photo, in the mirror it shows the other half of the mirror.
View Finder
My Favourite Image
This is my favourite image because the background really makes Beau stand out. Beau's posing in the image makes her look like a model. Also because the view finder is black and beaus jacket is black then the orange really stands out. Also the lighting is nice and none of the photograph is dark.
This lesson we had to take pictures using our view finder of shadows and other things. I went to block 3 for the majority of the pictures and I enjoyed the pictures of the shadows. I wasn't able to take as nice photos of the ones where I was looking upwards as the camera was kind of heavy and I couldn't keep the view finder 100% still.
Vivian Maiers And Amalia Ulman
What are the similarities with these two photographs?
Both Vivian and Amalia are taking the pictures of themselves
The pictures are both being taken in a reflection
They are both women
What are the main differences between the photographs?
Amalia Ulman's photo is in colour and Vivian Maier's is in black and white
They are both taken in two different years, it looks like Amalia Ulman's photo was taken in the 2000's
Vivian's is taken outside in the streets of New York and Amalia's is taken inside in a bedroom
Amalia's picture is taken on a phone whereas Vivian's is taken on a camera, so they are two different types of technology2
